Conservative commentator Newt Gingrich, in his zest to attack President Barack Obama, launched an attack that might have stuck an unintended victim – the late former president Ronald Reagan. It’s sad that Gingrich would take such a nasty shot at President Reagan and President Obama.

GINGRICH: Let me be clear. I am not a citizen of the world! I think the entire concept is intellectual nonsense and stunningly dangerous.

Nice fear-mongering by Gingrich who, like so many conservatives, plays the fear card by saying garbage like “stunningly dangerous.”

Check out the video at Daily Kos:

Just to clarify (with the words of Ronald Reagan on June 19, 1982 at the United Nations):

REAGAN: I speak today as both a citizen of the United States and of the world. … My people have sent me here today to speak for them as citizens of the world, which they truly are, for we Americans are drawn from every nationality represented in this chamber today.

Gingrich spins like a top, and will find some way of spinning his butt out of this.

Actor Jon Voight made some very critical comments about President Obama and the United States of America. Some people view Voight’s comments as patriotic. To the far-right conservatives, when Jon Voight is talking negatively about America, saying we’re becoming a weak nation, he is merely being “critical” of things. But, when Michelle Obama, Michael Pfleger and Jeremiah Wright made comments that were critical they were promptly labeled, by those on the far right wing of the political spectrum, as angry, ungrateful, as haters of America and anti-American. Some of Voight’s comments are delusional, but he is entitled to his opinion.

VOIGHT: My most pressing concern at this hour is the safety of Israel. I think Obama has no idea that Israel was built on the blood and sweat of the Jewish people. Every blade of grass, every tree, has been a successful effort because the Jewish people understanding they would have a safe homeland forever. He could not possibly understand this or he would know that the Jewish people are tried time and time again to give the Palestinians land and bring a peaceful solution. But every attempt, every attempt, was returned with violence. The Palestinians used Gaza to attack Israel. As far as I’m concerned, their only agenda is to wipe Israel off the Earth. And he reprimands the Israeli people, Obama. Like he’s a professor and they’re the school children. I was embarrassed to watch his press conference with the great war hero, Benjamin Netanyahu, who has helped keep his country safe for many years. Obama sat there with complete arrogance that he is the new American power, that he is able to dictate what he thinks is best for Israel. So how worried are we supposed to be now? Was I hearing things when he said that Iran might have the right to nuclear power? Are we supposed to be sitting and waiting, watching for the possibility of a new Holocaust? Who’s going to take the responsibility to keep Ameri — Israel safe?

I’ll tell you why this really scares the hell out of me. Because everything Obama has recommended has turned out to be disasterous. His so-called stimulus package and his budgets will leave our grandchildren with great burdens and great debts. The government is now owning car companies and banks and we’re losing job after job. Our unemployment rate is an astronomic 9.4. And of course they send out Joe Biden, one of the great double-talkers of our time, to tell us the unemployment rate is getting better. The government wants to run health care and tell people what doctors they can see. How much they can make. What cars to drive. And they’re killing off the entrepreneurs who are the backbone of our economy. It’s no wonder that the Russian newspaper Pravda, the former house organ for the former Soviet Communist regime, has said the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath-taking speed. We can blame Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, George Soros, David Axelrod and their ilk for the downfall of this country. It saddens me greatly to think we were the great power for good in the world. We as Americans knew America to be strong. And we were the liberators of the entire world. We are becoming a weak nation. Obama really thinks that he is a soft-spoken Julius Ceaser. He thinks he’s going to conquer the world with his soft-spoken sweet talk. And really thinks he’s going to bring all the enemies of the world into a little playground where they’ll swing each other back and forth. We and we alone are the right frame of mind to free this nation from this Obama oppression.

And let’s give thanks to all the great people like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin, William Bennett, Glenn Beck, Hugh Hewitt, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Dennis Miller, Dick Morris, Ann Coulter, John Kasich, Michael Steele, Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, Thomas Sowell, Victor Davis Hanson, Shelby Steele, Charles Krauthammer, Michelle Malkin, Fred Barnes and so many others. Let’s give thanks to them for not giving up and staying the course to bring an end to this false prophet Obama.

Here is a video of Michael Pfleger talking about some of the hypocrisies in regard to things that some people can say that would be considered “critical” vs. the same things the other people would say that would have them labeled as “haters of America.” If Jon Voight has a right to his opinion then Jeremiah Wright has a right to his opinion.

Right-wing commentator Greg Gutfeld has joined the party of people smearing the assassinated Dr. George Tiller. Dr. Tiller, who performed LEGAL procedures, was gunned down in church by a low-life anti-abortion domestic terrorist. It seems as though those extremists on the right wing are only concerned about domestic terrorism when it involves a Muslim.

Here is an excerpt from a blog written by Gutfeld:

So, as usual this morning, I’m on the stairclimber at the gym, watching CNN devote what seems like an entire morning on the death of George Tiller (no wonder their ratings are in the toilet). Remember, this isn’t just any abortion doctor – he’s like a hall-of-famer, late-term baby disposal unit – popping them off just as they cross the finish line.

But no matter, as I watch CNN’s in depth coverage – the kind you’d never see them give to the murder of a soldier by a Muslim convert – I kept obsessing over one thing.

Am I wrong for not caring?

I mean, I know that soon there will be a movie about Tiller (not about William Long, of course), probably starring walking hairpiece Ted Danson. But I still don’t care. I mean, I know that killing Tiller is wrong. It’s murder. And if you’re against the killing of unborn children, you can’t just go out and kill a man, even if he kills unborn children.

But that still doesn’t explain why I don’t care. And I’m willing to bet that the rest of America – save the media – don’t care much either.

Why is that? It’s not about Tiller’s murder being wrong. I get that. That’s not the issue. This issue is, when you make priorities of “stuff that’s wrong” – is it more wrong to kill a dumpster full of viable babies, than to kill the doc who fills that dumpster?

Yes, you are wrong for not caring about a man’s murder and the domestic terrorism that has, for so long, been intimately associated with the anti-abortion movement. Gutfeld may have the same research team that helped Bill O’Reilly lie about CNN’s coverage of the murder of Pvt. Long. O’Reilly was exposed as being dishonest about CNN’s in-depth coverage. Strangely enough, Gutfeld does actually make a good point: “And if you’re against the killing of unborn children, you can’t just go out and kill a man, even if he kills unborn children.” On the other hand, Gutfeld returns to right-wing extremism by the end. That is sad.

Here is another Gutfeld comment I found interesting (in the last paragraph of the above excerpt):

This issue is, when you make priorities of “stuff that’s wrong” – is it more wrong to kill a dumpster full of viable babies, than to kill the doc who fills that dumpster?

Whether you like it or not, abortion is a LEGAL procedure. MURDERING A HUMAN BEING IS ILLEGAL.

On June 6, 2009 I wrote the following in a blog:

Fox News conservative commentator Bill O’Reilly clearly has not mastered the art of the sincere apology. After O’Reilly lied about the coverage of the murdered Pvt. Long, he issued an apology. But, during his apology he took a cheap shot at CNN’s Rick Sanchez (who called O’Reilly out for his lies on the air). In other words, Bill O’Reilly(the hypocritical man who whines all the time about being smeared and about having his rights violated by critics) blamed the victim.

But, CNN should not feel too good about the apology. At the end of the clip, O’Reilly sets the stage for a Monday attack on CNN after he has a chance to regroup and dig up something else to use against the Fox News competitor.

O’Reilly lived up to that by going on a weak attack against CNN after being embarassed by being caught lying about CNN’s coverage of the murder of Pvt. William Long.

Like a child, O’Reilly came back after CNN this way:

“Let’s go back to Private William Long, assassinated last week in Arkansas by an American Muslim terrorist,” O’Reilly said near the end of the Talking Points segment seen below. “Now I criticized the network news and CNN for basically ignoring the story while ginning up the Tiller murder. As I reported last Friday, I did misspeak about CNN. They did cover the story day side, but their prime-time coverage was scant. In fact, up to the point where I mentioned the long Tiller comparison, CNN had devoted approximately 190 minutes almost three hours, more than three hours to Tiller while giving about 36 minutes to Private Long. That’s about a six to one margin. So there you go.”

Weak, weak, weak.

Once again, Bill O’Reilly exploits being busted for his lies about CNN to take another cheap shot at the assassinated Dr. George Tiller.

He’s still trying to cover up for his lies about CNN by re-framing the issue to try and make himself look like less of a liar.
