The stupidity of these nuts on the far right calling attention to President Obama’s birth certificate and whether or not he was born in the United States of America is so nutty.
If you buy into the conspiracy you should close your eyes and think about just how many people would have to be involved in a conspiracy of this magnitude (including a Hawaii newspaper which would have had to have had a sort of an amazing clairvoyance to fake this birth announcement knowing Barack Obama was going to become the first black president of the United States almost 50 years down the line).
Birth announcement from the Honolulu Advertiser:

Also, here is the birth certificate of Barack Obama that the birther nuts can’t seem to find and won’t accept:

The left, in all honesty, should be thankful for nuts like this who show their extremism in the most idiotic ways to give Americans a contrast.
Here is part of Martin’s column:
The YouTube video of an out-of-control woman yelling and screaming at Republican Congressman Mike Castle’s town hall meeting in Delaware, demanding to see the birth certificate of President Barack Obama, is utterly hilarious.
To watch others cheer her insanity, and then boo the congressman who says the president is an American, shows you that we have a serious problem with mental illness in this country.
The nut jobs that continue to promote this story are wacky, right-wing radio and TV talk shows hosts and no-credibility bloggers. They have latched onto this story like bloodsucking leeches, and actually want us to believe this story has legs.
Last week, in a suit filed by perennial presidential loser, Alan Keyes, they even tried to claim a court victory after a federal district judge in California asked to listen to the merits of their case. I’m sure he simply wanted to see for himself how delusional they are.

How about just “crazies” instead of trying to smear conservatives with this? The leading nutroot in all of this is Phillip Berg, who’s displayed some decidedly leftwing tendencies in the past, what with trying to disbar some members of the Supreme Court over the Bush vs Gore decision, and filing a RICO lawsuit against Bush over 9/11.

Because the most highly-publicized nuts in this birther issue has been right wingers (and prominent ones at that) who really are only making themselves look bad.

And now Lou Dobbs has joined the crazies over the birther issue? It was bad enough when Dobbs went ballistic over immigration, but he seems to have gone over the edge on this one. Legitimate discussion on any issue is fair and welcomed by listeners, but Dobbs carries his crusades far beyond what thinking people can tolerate. CNN would do well to consider farming Lou Dobbs out to Fox where he will find alot of crazy company.

I’m not a Birther and even if proved he wasn’t born in America (I believe he was born in America) I wouldn’t support his removal from office. He won, fair and square. There’s only one problem: that’s not a Hawaiian birth certificate, it’s a COLB, and there is a big fat difference. By law, Pres. Obama could have his birth certificate (the one with signatures of his doctor, the doctor’s nurse, his mother, and father) released, but he has not, thus fueling all the speculation. You can blame right-wing cranks all you want, but the President has the power to stop this nonsense and refuses to do it, just as he refuses to releases his high school and college transcripts.

The state of Hawaii is satisfied that he is an American citizen who was born in the United States of America and I have no reason not to believe that he wasn’t or that the state of Hawaii is wrong. His documentation has been satisfactory every step of the way en route to the presidency. I find it interesting that in all the years we’ve been a nation we have this unprecedented hysteria about trying to portray the president of our nation as not really being “one of us.” I don’t find it coincidental either in a time when we’re celebrating the first black president and we have nuts whining all day and all night about illegal immigration (leading to what some call the “browning of America”). I can’t remember any president in my lifetime having his citizenship questioned to this extent. I think this shows the hate and bigotry coming from the far right of the political mainstream. Hawaii is following the law and President Obama has complied with the law. All these birther nuts are doing little more than trying to create a controversy that could have a negative impact on our democracy.

The Health Department’s director reiterated yesterday that she has seen Obama’s birth records.
“I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawai’i State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawai’i State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawai’i and is a natural-born American citizen,” Fukino said in a statement. “I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008, over eight months ago.”
